Smart Dispatch is a powerful optimization tool designed to help you intelligently reschedule and reassign technician visits—minimizing travel time and ensuring the right technician is assigned based on required skills and certifications.
What is Smart Dispatch?
Smart Dispatch allows dispatchers to optimize schedules with just a few clicks—without losing control. It intelligently assigns visits across selected technicians based on:
Travel time
Required skills and certifications
Starting location
You can review all changes before applying them to your live schedule.
How to Use Smart Dispatch
1. Filter by Technician(s)
In the Daily View of your Dispatch Board, filter down to the technicians you want to include in the optimization.
2. Click “Optimize”
Smart Dispatch will only consider the selected technicians. Don’t worry—your live schedule won’t be changed right away.
3. Review & Adjust
You’ll see a draft view of the optimized schedule:
Compare the original vs. optimized schedule
Make manual adjustments if needed
Apply or cancel changes as desired
4. View Performance Insights
Review key dispatch KPIs (e.g., travel time reduction) to evaluate how optimization improves scheduling.
5. Apply Exclusions (Optional)
Exclude the following from optimization:
Specific employees (e.g., office staff, foremen)
Visits with confirmed times
6. Technician Start Locations
Smart Dispatch uses the technician’s profile address as the default starting point. If missing, the business address is used instead.
7. Error Handling
If optimization fails for a visit, hover over it to view the issue and resolution tips.
Setup Tips (Recommended)
There are no required process changes, but we recommend setting up the following to make the most out of Smart Dispatch:
Add technician addresses to their profiles
Set up and maintain skills and certifications
Assign relevant skills and certifications to technicians
New fields are available on visit creation/editing:
