Enhanced Project API: Cost Codes and Phases in One Call
If you use the BuildOps API for integrations (e.g., procurement or reporting tools), you can now pull project cost codes and phases together with projects in a single request. This reduces the number of API calls your integrations need to make and keeps project‑level purchasing and reporting workflows faster and more reliable.
Retrieve projects with their cost codes and/or phases included in one API call
Reduce API volume and latency for integrations that need project budgeting data
Simplify integration logic for tools that create project‑related purchase orders or reports from BuildOps
Smarter “Unsaved Changes” Prompt on Change Orders
When you update a Change Order and then change its status, BuildOps now gives you a clear, one‑step choice about what to do with any unsaved pricing edits—so you don’t lose work or have to repeat steps.
See a clear prompt whenever you change status with unsaved pricing changes
Choose “Save and continue” to save your edits and move forward in one step
Choose “Continue without saving” if you intentionally want to keep the current status but discard pricing changes
Avoid the old multi‑step workaround of canceling the status change just to save pricing first
This makes managing Change Orders faster and reduces the risk of accidentally discarding revenue‑impacting edits.
Quote Proposals: Smart Fields Auto‑Refresh on Generate
Generating a Proposal from a Quote will now always use the most up‑to‑date smart field information, without requiring any extra clicks. Smart fields refresh automatically when you create the Proposal, so the document your customer sees matches the latest version of the Quote.
With this update, you can:
Generate Proposals with accurate, current details every time
Skip the old “Refresh Smart Fields” step. BuildOps now handles this for you
Reduce the risk of sending PDFs that are out of date compared to the Quote in the app
Quote Labor: Automatic Labor Rate Modifiers on Unit Cost
For customers using Labor Rate Modifiers, BuildOps now automatically applies those modifiers to the Unit Cost of applicable labor line items on Quotes. This helps reduce manual updates and keeps your labor pricing more accurate and consistent across quotes.
What’s changing
Previously, you may have needed to factor Labor Rate Modifiers into quote pricing manually. With this update:
Labor Rate Modifiers are automatically included in the Unit Cost for eligible labor line items on Quotes
Teams spend less time recalculating and adjusting labor pricing on each quote
Labor Rate Modifiers tab in Labor Settings
Payroll Hour Rates & Types in Labor Settings
How the calculation works:
BuildOps now starts from your Payroll Hour Rate and then applies the modifier to calculate the Unit Cost on Quote labor lines.
From your Labor Settings:
Payroll Hour Rate – Technician, RT: $15.00/hour
Labor Rate Modifier for RT: +5%
When you add a Technician – RT labor line to a Quote, BuildOps now calculates:
Base rate: $15.00
5% modifier: $15.00 × 5% = $0.75
Unit Cost on the Quote = $15.75/hour
If you quote 10 hours of Technician RT labor, the cost on that line is:
10 × $15.75 = $157.50 (before any markup or margin you apply on the quote)
Credit Splits on Opportunities (CRM+)
Sales teams can now share credit on Opportunities by assigning flexible percentage splits across multiple contributors. This lets you accurately reflect how deals are worked in real life, improves performance reporting, and reduces the need for manual spreadsheets to track split commissions.
What’s new
Add multiple contributors to an Opportunity on the Contributors tab
Use the new Percentage column to set how much credit each salesperson receives
Click Split Evenly to divide credit across all contributors in a single step
Percentages always sum to 100%, with any rounding handled automatically
Keep ownership, reporting, and commission calculations aligned with how your team actually sells
How it works
On any Opportunity, you can update contributors and credit allocation as needed:
Open the Opportunity.
Go to the Contributors tab.
Add multiple contributors if more than one salesperson worked the deal.
Click Edit.
Use the Percentage column to set each contributor’s share, or click Split Evenly to divide credit automatically.
The Contributors tab on an Opportunity showing multiple sales reps listed with a new Percentage column, and the total credit across all contributors adding up to 100%.
