Inventory Issues now included with Warehouse Stock Inventory
Over the next two weeks, this change will be rolled out gradually to companies that use Inventory with Warehouse Stock Inventory enabled.
No action is required on your side to receive this update.
Once applied, Inventory Issues will simply appear as part of your existing Inventory experience.
This makes it easier to track stock leaving your warehouses and trucks, including optional automatic issue records when items are added to job reports, without any extra setup required.
Who is affected
Companies currently using Inventory
And have Warehouse Stock Inventory enabled
If your company does not use Inventory, or does not have Warehouse Stock Inventory enabled, nothing will change for you.
What is changing
Previously, the Inventory Issues functionality had to be turned on separately by the BuildOps team for each company.
Going forward:
When Warehouse Stock Inventory is enabled for your company, Inventory Issues will be enabled automatically.
You will continue to be able to create manual inventory issue records when taking items out of stock from your warehouses or trucks.
When enabled, BuildOps can automatically create inventory issue records when inventory items are added to job reports, so your stock movements stay in sync with field work.
No additional configuration or setup is required on your side for this change.
What stays the same
Your existing inventory quantities and historical transactions are not changed by this update.
How you issue items from a warehouse or truck in the Inventory module remains the same.
Any existing workflows you use for issuing items will continue to work as before; you will simply see the corresponding Inventory Issue records tied to those movements.
How to access Inventory Issues
Once the change is applied to your company:
Open the Inventory module in BuildOps.
You will see the options for tracking Inventory Issues alongside your existing warehouses, trucks, and stock.
From there, you can review automatically created issue records and continue to create manual issues whenever you take items out of stock.
