Unblocking PDF View in BuildOps

From time to time, you may see this error when previewing an invoice or document:

“This content is blocked. Contact the site owner to fix the issue.”

Why this happens:

This usually occurs because of your browser’s PDF settings.
If Google Chrome is set to automatically download PDFs instead of opening them in the browser, embedded PDF previews (like Invoice Preview in BuildOps) can’t load and will appear as blocked.

This is a browser behavior, not an issue with the invoice or your BuildOps account.

How to fix it (Google Chrome)

Paste the link on your browser: chrome://settings/content/pdfDocuments. Make sure that the Open PDFs in Chrome is enabled.

OR

  1. Open Google Chrome

  2. Go to Settings

  3. Click Privacy and security

  4. Select Site Settings

  5. Scroll down and open Additional content settings

  6. Click PDF documents

  7. OR you can also paste the link on your browser: chrome://settings/content/pdfDocuments

  8. Select "Open PDFs" in Chrome.

Once this is selected, PDFs will open directly in the browser and the invoice preview should display correctly in BuildOps.
