We’re excited to introduce Change Orders V2, a redesigned experience that makes it faster and easier to create, review, and approve change orders.

With Change Orders V2, you can now:

  • Track progress through new, intuitive statuses

  • Navigate a cleaner, tabbed layout for Scope & Pricing, Attachments,

  • Communication History, and Activity

  • Enter and edit line items more quickly using a data grid (similar to Quotes)

  • Add and filter by custom Tags for better organization

  • See real-time updates when generating previews or sending for approval

  • This feature is still in Early Access. Please reach out to your CSM if you're interested.

  • This version does not introduce any changes to calculation logic, including markup, margin, tax, or related formulas.

Smarter Page Layout & Navigation

The Change Order page has been redesigned for clarity and ease of use.

New tab structure:

  • Easier file management with a clear, organized Attachments table

  • Centralized Communication History for quick reference

  • Streamlined navigation between sections

Faster Data Entry & Better Control

  • Creating and editing Change Orders is now simpler and more intuitive:

  • New data grid for quick line-item entry and bulk edits

  • Searchable Phase, Department, and Cost Code fields for faster selections

  • Custom Tags for easier organization and filtering across projects

  • Real-time PDF preview with side-by-side configuration panel

  • Pricing visibility retained after billing for ongoing control

Improved Workflow & Status Tracking

Change Orders now include a more detailed workflow to help teams manage approvals and visibility across stages.

Expanded status progression for clearer visibility:

Draft → Sent for Approval → Approved → Responded → Rejected → Voided

  • Optional Tentatively Approved status for forecasting projected approvals

  • Status confirmations and warnings help prevent unintended financial impacts

  • Greater transparency and flexibility throughout the COR lifecycle

How To Add and Manage Custom Tags

  1. Navigate to Company Settings → Custom Fields → Project COR Tags.

  1. Enter new tag names and click Save.

  2. When creating or editing a COR, add tags from the field in the top-left corner.

  1. Remove a tag by clicking the “x” next to it.

  2. Filter CORs using the Tags column in the Change Order Requests table.

How To Create and Manage Change Orders

  • Create a COR the same way as before:

  • +Add Change Order Request on the COR tab

  • Tab through each row to enter details; press Enter to confirm a selection.

  • Remember: Details and Pricing sections save independently, allowing users to edit COR details without resetting the approval workflow.

  • Update statuses through the “Approve” button + ellipsis menu.

  • Use Generate Preview to access both the Email workflow and Add to Files directly.
