An After Hours schedule allows technicians to self-dispatch for jobs and visits that fall outside regular business hours. When After Hours schedules are configured, mobile users can create jobs and visits directly from the mobile app.
After Hours settings are typically configured during implementation, but account admins can add, edit, or remove After Hours schedules at any time.
Setting up after hours
Go to company settings
Navigate to your company settings page.
Scroll down to the After Hours Settings section.
Add a schedule
If no schedule exists, click "Add Schedule"
Enter a schedule name
Select the appropriate department(s) (to ensure the correct technicians appear in the list)
Set the day, start time, and end time
Assign technicians (optional but recommended)
Save the schedule
Click "Save"
Make sure to create both an AM After Hours and PM After Hours schedule.
To ensure full coverage, avoid gaps in scheduling—for example, set PM After Hours to end at 11:59 PM and AM After Hours to start at 12:00 AM.
Editing an after hours schedule
Click "Edit" next to the schedule you want to modify.
Make any necessary changes.
Click "Save".
Technician access in the mobile app
Once an After Hours schedule is added and active, technicians will see a blue plus symbol at the bottom right of their mobile app.
Tapping the blue plus symbol allows them to create and schedule jobs or visits during the after-hours time frame.
Technicians must sign out and sign back in for changes to take effect.

Q: I do not see the technician I want to select for my After Hours schedule.
Verify that the technician is assigned to the department selected for the After Hours schedule.
Q: I updated my schedule, but the tech does not see the plus sign button.
Ensure the department and technician are correctly assigned to the After Hours schedule.
Have the technician log out and log back into the BuildOps app to apply the changes.
