How Can Technicians Upload or Attach Photos in BuildOps Mobile App, Including Forms V2?

Written by Angelene Rosario

Technicians using the BuildOps mobile app have several options for uploading or attaching photos, depending on the specific use case. Below is a comprehensive guide to help you understand the capabilities, limitations, and workarounds for photo uploads in BuildOps.

Photo Uploads in Forms V2

Uploading photos directly into a form using Forms V2 on mobile is not supported. However, there are alternative methods to include photos:

  • Before and After Feature: Use this feature to document visual changes without embedding photos directly into the form.

  • Attach Photos to Visits or Reports: Photos can be added to the visit or report instead of the form. This ensures the images are saved with the visit record and can be shared with the customer alongside the report.

Using the Updated Media Picker

The BuildOps mobile app recently introduced a new media picker interface, which simplifies the process of adding photos, videos, or files. Here’s how to use it:

  1. Go to Before/After Photos & Videos

  2. Navigate to the Attachments section of the Job/Visit.

  3. Tap Add at the bottom of the screen.

  4. In the Attachment Selection view, tap the “+” icon in the top-right corner.

  5. Choose Images, Videos, or Files.

  6. Select the items to upload. Selected items will display a check mark.

  7. To remove a selected item before uploading, tap the checked item again to deselect it.

To add photos, videos, or files:

  1. Tap Add at the bottom of the Attachments screen.

  2. You’ll be taken to the Attachment Selection view.

  3. Tap the “+” icon in the top-right corner.

  4. Choose whether you want to upload Images, Videos, or Files.

  5. Select the items you want to attach. Selected items will be highlighted with a check mark.

To remove a selected photo or video:

  • Tap the checked item again to deselect it before confirming the upload.
