New: End-to-End RFI Workflow on Mobile and Web
We’ve made it easier than ever to keep your projects moving by bringing the full RFI workflow to both Mobile and Web, fully connected to your project drawings and markups.
Before, RFIs were limited to the web, so field teams couldn’t log issues where they happened. Now, field teams can create RFIs on-site, directly from drawings, while project managers can review, enhance, and send them for resolution. Plus, the new mobile RFI list makes it simple to track and respond to project issues on the go.
Here’s what’s new:
On Mobile
Open your project in the BuildOps mobile app.
Go to Drawings, choose a page, and add any annotation or markup (including the popular “cloud” markup).
Tap Complete Annotation in the top bar.
Tap Add Reference.
Create a new RFI or link the markup to an existing one.
Fill out the required fields, attach jobsite photos if needed, and save as a draft.
Go to the RFI tab under the project to view or edit your RFIs.
Note: Offline mode for RFIs on mobile will be released soon.
On Web
Open the project’s RFI section.
Open any draft created from mobile or create one from a drawing markup.
Add clarifications or suggested answers, assign stakeholders, and send the RFI.
Track responses and update the RFI status until it’s closed.
View all drawing-linked RFIs directly in the drawing viewer.

Forms: Easier Searching, Better Performance, and Updated Asset Creation
We’ve made key improvements to Forms to help you find what you need faster and improve stability when working with large forms.
Here’s what’s new:
Forms V2
Search your forms: You can now use a search bar at the top of the form list to quickly find the one you need.
Better performance with long forms: Very large form field lists are now paginated, which helps improve app stability and prevents crashes.
Forms V3
Updated asset creation: Forms-created assets will now always use the new asset format, ensuring consistency across your projects.
Overnight Visits in Job Start/End and Daily Shift
What’s New: We’ve made it easier to capture accurate time entries for shifts or visits that span past midnight, such as overnight work or when catching up on a missed clock-out. The system now supports selecting next-day timestamps where needed.
Technicians can now select the next calendar day when setting the following field values for overnight visits or shifts:
Daily Shift End
Start Time of Event
End Time of Event
Explicit Break Start
Explicit Break End
This enhancement is available in:
Event Timesheets (Project Visits and Visits)
Timesheets section
Stay tuned — this will also be added to daily reports soon!
Impacted Screens
Start Time / End Time
You can now choose the next calendar day for both Start and End Time fields.
Explicit Break Start / End
Next-day selection is now supported in both fields (Break Start, Break End) for daily explicit breaks.
Daily Shift Start / End
You can now clock out using a next-day timestamp when needed.
To make sure your time entries are always accurate, the system will guide you based on your last recorded shift:
If you haven’t clocked out from your previous shift:
You’ll be asked to clock out from your previous day’s shift when:
You tap an action button for today’s job or visit.
You tap the Daily Shift button at the top of the screen.
If you've already clocked out from yesterday but haven't clocked in today:
You’ll be prompted to clock in to today’s shift when:
You open the app for the first time today.
You tap the Daily Shift button.
You tap any action button for today’s job or visit.
If you’re already clocked in today:
You won’t be prompted to clock in again until you clock out.

Remove Inventory Items on Mobile
You can now remove an inventory item directly from your mobile device. Whether you're updating material usage or making adjustments in the field, it's easy to tap Remove at the bottom of the item details screen.
This update gives you more flexibility when managing inventory on the go. No need to call your office just to make changes.
Crew Time Now Clearly Indicates Missing Labor Codes
We’ve improved the Crew Time banner in Daily Reports to give clearer guidance when labor cost codes are missing.
Even if cost codes are present, the system now checks whether any of them are valid for labor. If not, a banner will appear to let you know that crew time can’t be added until a valid labor cost code is included.
This update helps ensure that you aren’t left guessing why the Crew Time section is disabled, keeping things simple and easy to follow in the field.
