AI-Powered Asset Summary

See a quick, AI-generated summary of an asset’s work history right on the Asset Details page. Smart Recap helps technicians get up to speed fast without needing to dig through past records.

This makes it easier for technicians to:

  • Review key details about jobs and visits linked to an asset.

  • Catch up quickly before the next service.

  • Focus on the work at hand instead of searching through old notes.

Please reach out to your IM/CSM if you're interested to enable this feature.

Inspection Job without System/Device/Asset

Coordinators can now create inspection jobs even when the property’s equipment hasn’t been identified yet. Inspectors will add the correct systems and devices onsite in Inspect Point, ensuring there’s a complete and accurate record of what needs to be inspected.

With this enhancement, teams can:

  • Schedule inspections right away without waiting on equipment details

  • Capture systems and devices during the first visit in Inspect Point

  • Rely on inspection questions that adapt automatically to what’s found onsite

Note: This enhancement is available for customers with Inspect Point features enabled.

New: RFIs on Mobile Drawings

RFIs can now be created, viewed, and managed directly from mobile, giving field teams the ability to capture issues where they happen and keep communication clear with the office. RFIs appear as markups in the drawing viewer, so context is never lost.

Here’s what’s new:

On Mobile

  • Open your project in the BuildOps mobile app.

  • Go to Drawings, choose a page, and add any annotation or markup (including the popular “cloud” markup).

  • Tap Complete Annotation.

  • Tap Add Reference.

  • Create a new RFI or link the markup to an existing one.

  • Fill out the required fields, attach jobsite photos if needed, and save as a draft.

  • Go to the RFI tab under the project to view or edit your RFIs.

  • RFIs can also be created from the list or drawings while offline, and will sync once you’re back online.

On Web

  • Open the project’s RFI section.

  • Open any draft created from mobile or create one from a drawing markup.

  • Add clarifications or suggested answers, assign stakeholders, and send the RFI.

  • Track responses and update the RFI status until it’s closed.

  • View all drawing-linked RFIs directly in the drawing viewer.

Please reach out to your IM/CSM if you're interested to enable this feature.

Update: Department Field in Job and Visit Creation

The Department field has been moved up in the mobile Job and Visit creation workflow, making it easier to see and ensuring it’s filled out when required.

Now, it appears directly below the Property field, and if your account is configured to require Departments, the app will enforce this during creation.

  • The Department field now shows immediately after selecting a Property.

  • If your account requires a Department, you must select one before continuing.

  • This applies to both Job and Visit creation on mobile.

This update helps prevent missed Department entries and keeps job data accurate and aligned with your account’s configuration.

Improved Validation for Conditional Fields in Forms V3

Forms now respect conditional logic when validating required fields. If a required field is hidden by conditional logic, it will no longer block submission. Required fields will only be enforced when they are visible.

Previously, hidden fields that were marked as “Required” still triggered validation errors, preventing forms from being submitted and causing confusion for users.

Here’s what’s new:

  • Users can submit the form once all required fields are completed.

Image shows the Form is not expecting required fields to be filled in when they are hidden due to conditional logic.

  • When a required field appears because of conditional logic, it must be filled out before the form can be submitted. This ensures required fields are only enforced when they are visible.

Mobile Workflow Improvements for Technicians

We’ve refined several areas of the mobile experience to make technician workflows smoother, clearer, and easier to use in the field.

Here’s what’s new:

  • Clearer photo/video attachment process
When technicians attach photos or videos on a Visit, the confirmation button has been updated to show “Attach # Selected.” This makes it easier to see exactly how many files are being uploaded and provides a clear confirmation step before attaching.

  • Job search now includes Job Description

In Property > Work History > Jobs, technicians can now search not only by Job number but also by Job Description. This makes it much faster to find the right Job, especially when only descriptive details are known instead of exact Job numbers.

  • Daily Report duplication after Project end date
Previously, technicians were restricted from duplicating Daily Reports past a Project’s end date. This restriction has been removed, giving users more flexibility to duplicate and manage Daily Reports without being blocked by project timing.

  • Messaging after Visit Report generation
If a technician tries to add or edit Visit details after a Visit PDF Report has already been generated, the system now displays a clear message. This prevents confusion by letting users know that changes made at this stage will not be saved, ensuring technicians always understand the status of their Visit reports.

  • Service Agreement search bar
Under Customer > Work History > Service Agreements, a new search bar has been added. This allows technicians to quickly locate a Service Agreement by typing in the number or details, making it easier to manage multiple agreements linked to a property.
