Why do technicians see only a black screen when clicking the camera to upload a photo?

This issue will occur if the BuildOps app does not have access to the microphone. To resolve it, please ask your technicians to allow microphone access for the BuildOps app on their devices.

Below are the steps for both Android and iOS:

iOS (iPhone/iPad)

  1. Open Settings

  2. Scroll down and tap BuildOps

  3. Enable Microphone

  • Make sure the toggle is switched ON

Alternative path:

  1. Go to Settings

  2. Tap Privacy & Security

  3. Tap Microphone

  4. Find BuildOps in the list and toggle the switch ON

Android

  1. Open Settings

  2. Tap Apps (or Apps & notifications)

  3. Find and tap BuildOps

  4. Tap Permissions

  5. Select Microphone

  6. Choose Allow

Once microphone permissions are enabled, the issue should no longer occur.
