Submittals Now Available on Mobile (Read-Only)

We’re excited to share that Submittals are now accessible in the BuildOps mobile app. Field users can now search, filter, and view Submittal Packages including items and attachments right from their devices.

This update bridges the gap between the office and the field, ensuring your teams always have access to the latest project information without relying on printed copies, email, or external portals.

This release adds read-only access to Submittals on mobile, making it easy to search and review on the go. Editing, approvals, rejections, and workflow actions such as revisions, notifications, and status updates remain available on web app.

What’s New:

  • A new “Submittals” tab in project navigation

  • Ability to search and filter Submittal Packages and items

  • Package detail view with status, due dates, notes, and item lists

  • Item detail view with metadata and attachments

  • In-app viewer for supported attachment file types

  • Offline support for recently viewed Submittals

How It Works

  1. Open a project in the BuildOps mobile app.

  2. Navigate to the new “Submittals” tab.

  3. Search or filter to find the package or item you need.

  4. Tap into a package to view details such as status, due dates, and notes.

  5. Select an item to view data and attachments.

  6. Open attachments directly in the app.

  7. For offline work, recently viewed content will stay accessible.

Please reach out to your CSM if you want this feature enabled.

Flattened PDF Generation for Forms V2

We are introducing automatic flattened PDF generation for Form V2 submissions from the mobile app. Now, whenever a form is submitted, the system automatically creates a simplified, non-editable PDF in the background.

What this means for you:

  • Consistent PDFs – All downstream uses (invoices, reports, integrations, or sharing externally) now rely on a stable, flattened version.

  • Reliable formatting – Flattened PDFs ensure the document looks the same across different PDF viewers.

  • No workflow changes – Mobile users continue submitting forms the same way. The flattening process happens automatically in the background.

Update: Empty Daily Report Timesheets

We’ve made a key improvement to Daily Reports that gives your team more visibility and control when tracking hours.

What’s New:

Empty (0-hour) daily report timesheets will now appear in the Daily Report edit screen under the Crew Time card.

This means:

  • You’ll see all timesheets in one place, even if no hours have been logged yet.

  • You can edit these empty entries directly, instead of creating new ones.

  • Keep reports cleaner and more accurate while saving time on corrections.

Work History Aligned with Mobile Settings

The Work History list (Open Work) now follows the rules you’ve configured in mobile:

  1. Self-Schedule Assigned Visits

    • If enabled: Preferred Technicians can schedule their own assigned visits.

    • If disabled: They will not be able to schedule their assigned visits.

  2. Self-Assign Unassigned Jobs/Visits

    • If enabled: Technicians can pick up and schedule unassigned jobs within their department.

    • If disabled: Unassigned jobs will not be available to them.

  3. Display Unassigned Jobs

    • If enabled: Technicians will see unassigned jobs in their department’s Work History list.

    • If disabled: These jobs will not appear.

  4. Preferred Technician Lock

    • Once a Preferred Technician is set, it cannot be changed from mobile.

Billable and Non-Billable Event Address on Mobile

We’ve expanded event handling on the mobile app so technicians can now view, add, and edit event addresses for both billable and non-billable events just like on web.

What’s New

  • View Event Addresses
When viewing a billable or non-billable event, technicians now see the event address in addition to the property address right on the event card.

  • Edit Event Addresses
Technicians can update the event address when editing an existing billable or non-billable event.

  • Add Event Addresses
When creating new events, technicians can enter the event address directly. Address entry supports Google autocomplete, ensuring accurate and standardized addresses.

  • Event Card Display
The event card now clearly displays both the property address and event address so field users have the right location details at a glance.
